Local Activities

Cromarty has many lovely walks  with the coastal circuit walk up the South Sutor and down to McFarquhar's bed being the closest.  Eathie Beach, a Jurassic site with its fossils made famous by Hugh Miller, is also a lovely local walk. 

Learnie Red Rock mountain bike trails are a short cycle away and there are trails for every level of experience. 

Ecoventures  do boat trips from the Harbour to go dolphin watching as well as seeing the other wildlife along the way. 

Udale Bird Hide  is six miles away just past the village of Jemimaville. 

Wildwoodz  is an outdoor gaming centre on the Black Isle and offers paint balling among other activities. 

There is a golf course at Fortrose 11 miles away, or why not take the Cromarty Queen Ferry and drive to the Royal Dornoch Golf Club

Trout Quest can provide guided fly fishing to individuals or groups. 

There was an archaeological dig in Cromarty in 2013 which indicates that Cromarty was a medieval burgh going back to the 14th century. If funding permits, further archeolgical investigation will take place in summer 2014. 

Children might enjoy a visit to the Black Isle Wildlife Park with zebras and llamas amongst the exotic creatures to be found there.
