Cosy and stylish cottage in North-west Scotland

This beautifully appointed, modern cottage is situated right in the centre of the picturesque coastal village of Scourie.

It comfortably sleeps four people, one bedroom with a king size bed, the other with a high quality adult size wooden bunk bed.

A spacious kitchen diner with open fires and full electric heating provides a very pleasant place to relax.

King size double bedroom plus a twin room with large bunk beds. Peaceful location. Plenty of free parking. Beach 5 mins walk. Wonderful views, walks and wildlife all around. Village shop and post office. Also a 24 hour petrol station. Fishing

Fish for Trout, Sea Trout and Salmon in local lochs (over 30 lochs). A permit can be obtained in the local petrol station along with inexpensive rods and tackle for sale.

Sea fishing: Sea bass, Pollock, Ling, Mackerel, Turbot are some of the many fish that can be caught from the beaches in the surrounding area. Chartered fishing trips can be arranged leaving from scourie.

Bird/nature watching

Scourie has its own bird hide on the beach (5 min walk from the house) and boat trips to Handa run frequently in the season where Guillemots, Razorbills, Petrels, Skuas, Kittiwake and even Puffins can be spotted. Also a good chace of seeing seals, dolphins and even basking shark!

Walking and Hiking

There are many hills and mountains to be explored very close by with magnificent scenary. View a waterfall four times higher than Niagara, "Escoul-Aluin" the tallest waterfall in Britain from Kylesku.

Geopark

The Geopark is a clearly defined area between Knockan Crag and Durness with a unique geological heritage in terms of scientific quality, rarity, aesthetic appeal and educational value.

Pubs and Resturants

Scourie hotel - The pub/resturant is a 2 minute walk and offers a wide range of good bar meals, real ales and malt whiskies.

Eddrachilles - Over 100 single malt whiskies. Everything is home-cooked using fresh local produce such as prawns, lobsters and crabs from the bay, or fresh fish from Kinlochbervie or Lochinver.

Kylesku Fresh langoustine, spineys, lobster, crab, scallops, haddock and mussels are available daily and are complemented by a wide selection of wines and malt whiskies.

Shops

There is a Spar shop and a 24hour fuelling station just round the corner (60yards).
