Highbury Cottage is situated in the Isle of Wedmore 4 miles from Cheddar Gorge and the Mendip Hills and is surrounded by the Somerset Levels. 

The area is a mecca for fishing, cyclists, nature lovers, golfers and walkers.

For those who wish to explore a little further afield there is Wells, the smallest city in England just 9 miles away, market days are Wednesdays and Saturdays. Do not miss the most beautiful Cathedral and gardens many cafes and shops to while away some time.

Bath, Taunton, the Quantock Hills and Bristol are all about a 25 mile drive. 

For golfers you will find Wedmore Golf Club 1 mile away and there are many golf courses around there is a championship course at Burnham-on Sea.

The sandy beaches of Burnham-on Sea, Brean and Weston-S-Mare are all with-in 30 min drive.

Children- don't miss Longleat, Bristol Zoo, Farmparks, donkey rides and sand dunes for dune jumping also nearby is Wookey Hole (loads to see and to do there) also Puxton Park in door and out door activities etc etc.

For some retail therapy Clarks Village is about 9 miles away where you will find a host of high street discount outlets.

There are a number of National Trust properties close by including Montecute House, Barrington Court, Tyntesfield and Stourhead.

Fishing is available at Blagdon Lake and Chew Valley lake.
