We were absolutely enchanted by our recent stay at Strontian Lodges where we stayed at Jura. It was a beautiful lodge, very clean and well presented. But its location was the real star. We woke up each morning (late in the morning, that is - we were lazy!) to stunning views down Loch Sunart of the water, the mountains, the greenery and the wildlife. Each morning we had breakfast watching the birds doing their thing, virtually on our doorstep. It was wonderful. There are so many beautiful walks not far from the lodges, one of the best being no more than a five minute car journey. We had shopped before we reached the lodge but later in the week we found the Post Office, just 50 yards down the road from the lodges, and a general store in Strontian, had everything we needed to stock up again. We would thoroughly recommend the lodges and Carol, who we found to be very pleasant and helpful. We were talking on the way home that we couldn't remember the last time we unwound so much on a holiday and we look forward to our return.
We have stayed here since 1977 as a family and individuals , the wonder of the Scottish Highlands, the chalets and the welcome are as wonderful as ever.
We have just finished a fantastic trip to the UK & were fortunate to spend one of the weeks in one of these beautiful log cabins. We had picked the location for the scenery & as a base in the "High-lands of Scot-land", but were stunned by the quality & finish of the cabin. We were quite stunned, particularly my eldest who is very hard to please.. I would highly recommend these cabins to anyone..
