This page is currently under construction. All mileage figures are approximate. 1. From the south side of the Kessock Bridge, Inverness, drive north across the bridge on the A9 until the left turn signposted Lairg, joining the B9176 at this point (17 miles). 2. Stay on the B9176 until the left turn signposted Lairg, joining the A836 at this point (15 miles). 3. Stay on the A836 through Bonar Bridge and Lairg until the left turn signposted Kinlochbervie, joining the A838 at this point (17 miles). 4. Stay on the A838 until the end of the journey, turning right at Laxford Bridge following the sign for Kinlochbervie. At Rhiconich, Inchard Cottage is opposite the Rhiconich Hotel (40 miles).
NB. There is a large red deer population
in north-west Sutherland and they are
frequently seen on the single-track
A838. Please be vigilant for them, and
adjust your driving speed accordingly.
For an even more scenic but slightly longer drive, take the second exit at the Tore roundabout 7 miles after the Kessock Bridge, and head north via Ullapool, joining up with the A838 at Laxford Bridge for the final stretch to Rhiconich.  This route takes you over the rather stylish Kylesku Bridge (right).
