Accommodation in Taigh Aoinidh

One of the best things about Taigh Aoinidh is the bright, spacious accommodation it provides.  Sleeping up to six adults, there's plenty of room for everyone.

Downstairs, the first room you enter is the amazing dining room.  With its cathedral ceiliing, lined with pine, and its picture windows looking out onto Eilean Donan Castle and the hills of Kintail, it provides the perfect place to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner - and after-dinner drinks.  In fact, you'll find it hard to tear yourself away.  Many visitors, especially on long summer evenings, find them selves entranced by the views of the lit-up castle, the stars and the bats so that the tv is never switched on and whole evenings disappear...

Off to the right is the well-equipped kitchen.  As well as a table and stools, ideal for breakfast, the kitchen has a full-size electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, breadmaker and toaster.  Fully equipped with a wide range of crockery, cutlery, utensils and pans, you'll be able to make everything from a snack to a feast.

To the left is the sitting room.  Spacious yet cosy with its warm red and green colour scheme, it provides a relaxing space for evenings in.

It has views to the south, west and north, including a view over the castle.  When it gets dark and you can't see the view anymore, there's a tv with free sky channels, video and dvd player.

Also downstairs is a twin bedroom and a toilet/shower.  The utility room at the back door has a washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge/freezer, washing pulley and the boiler for the oil-fired central heating.  It's a great space for drying wet boots and gear.

Upstairs there is a kingsize bedroom with built-in wardrobes and plenty of storage space.  As with the twin bedroom, it looks out to the castle at the front and to the field and hills at the rear.  Often you'll see Highland cattle in the field at the back but they are securely fenced in! There's also a luxurious bathroom, ideal for soaking away the aches from a day on the hills.

Taigh Aoinidh comes with plenty of facilities.  There's a big, well-maintained garden which can be secured.  Beside the house, there's plenty of parking and there's a flat gravelled area with picnic bench seating which is ideal for barbecues.  There are also folding chairs for use anywhere in the garden or taking on a picnic.  There's a drying line at the rear of the house.

We would ask that you don't smoke in the house and we're unable to allow pets.
