Eilean Donan Castle - one of the most famous landmarks in Britain, the castle is a great place to explore and discover the history of the Clan MacRae.  As well as the castle, it's got a really interesting visitor centre with cafe and shop.

Dornie Hotel - the local hotel provides a welcoming place to have a bar meal or dinner.  Walking distance from both cottages.

Clachan Bar - bar meals, a relaxing drink and occasionally traditional music sessions.  Walking distance from both cottages.

Skye Ferry - between Easter and October, take the ancient crossing across to the Isle of Skye.

Caledonian MacBrayne - ferries from Skye to the Isle of Raasay and to Mallaig for trips to the Small Isles. 

Plockton Seal Trips - Money back if no seals.  You can't say fairer than than.

National Trust - owns various properties in the area and provides guided walks, etc.

Dornie Hall - a venue for all sorts of events throughout the year, from the annual art fair to music and drama.

Lochalsh.com - a website with lots of information about the Lochalsh area.

Skye and Lochalsh.com - the official website for the Isle of Skye and Lochalsh.  Information on what to see and do, eating out, shopping, etc.

Walk Highlands - the website for all sorts of information about walking in the Highlands - does what it says on the tin!

Cuillin.FM - the local radio station; always worth a listen.

Radio nan Gaidheal - to hear the sound of the local language, Gaelic, while you're here.
