GOLFERS have a wide variety of courses to choose from based at the sound of kintyre. From the house Machrihanish village is a 10 minute drive where you can choose the well-known Machrihanish Golf Club, an 18 hole links course where the first hole was recently voted "the finest in the world"
Also from Machrihanish village you can book the Machrihanish Dunes 18 hole links course which you can see from the house. Only completed in recent years it is proving to be a challenging and popular course which has already won awards, in particular for it's unique care of the spectacular wildlife and wide flowers seen in this area.
Dunaverty, at Southend is an 18 hole links and Carradale on east of kintyre is a 16 hole inland course.
The islands of Gigha, Arran and Islay ( the latter 2 being long days out but well worth it) have a variety of Parkland, Links and Inland courses)
For those with companions who do not golf there are huge choices of interesting things to see and do near all the courses whether it is walking, wildlife, museums, castles, surfing and swimming.
