Sound of Kintyre

WALKERS. From the Sound of Kintyre you can leave the car and walk along the farm road past the Machrihanish Dunes Golf Course and on to the beach - this is an easy walk and takes about 30 minute.

From the beach you can turn right and walk to Westport beach which is about 15 minutes or turn left and walk along the beach for approx. 2 miles to Machrihanish Village

From the house you can also walk to the airport or all the way to Machrihanish - it is almost all flat walking with few cars to the airport.

There are many walks from Campbeltown including walking to Davaar island and many walks over the hills or along the quiet roadsides. Carradale on the east coast has many interesting walks and on the islands of Gigha ( a 30 minute drive and 20 minute sail) and Islay and Arran ( each about 1 hour drive by the Cal Mac ferry which takes 2 hours to Islay from Kennacraig and 30 minute sail from Cloanaig to Lochranza on Arran but both well worth the visit)
